Sandy Hairstyle Game
If a girl you think is very unattractive got a make-over by changing her hairstyle, wearing make-up, better clothes and got a better body shape. Would that make you think she is good looking?
It’s possible that I would think she was good-looking after that, but it’s important to remember that looks are only part of the attraction. One of my best friends is a beautiful woman, and I’m not attracted to her.
I would never say that any of those changes are “bad” things. If the girl felt bad about herself before and felt better about herself afterward, that’s great!
Did you ever watch Grease?

This is Sandy. She’s attractive in a lot of ways, both in appearance and personality.

This is Danny. He’s a very charismatic bad boy.
To make a long story short, they meet and have some feelings for each other. Sandy falls much more strongly in love with Danny than he does with her. He recognizes her great personality, but she’s just not his type.
She made herself into the Goddess of Greaser Girls. She didn’t do that for her self-esteem. She did it to make Danny fall in love with her.
It’s framed as a happy ending, but I find it thoroughly depressing. She didn’t do all of this for herself, she did it for him. She did it to impress a guy who put appearances over everything else. She gained a boyfriend, sure. But what did she trade for him? And was it worth it?
There’s nothing at all wrong with making over your appearance, and certainly good diet and exercise are not bad things. But the goal should be good emotional and physical health, not winning the fickle heart of someone like Danny.
